Downtime Actions: How to do stuff between games and spend XP

If you wish to do things during downtime or to spend XP, please post in your personal forum within one week after the date of the game (Following Sunday, midnight).
Requests will usually be processed during the week following this, so please check the forums in case you need to participate in a scene as a result of your actions (or for any other reason).
Actions submitted after this point, but before Monday processing (6pm) may still be fully processed, however you will not earn XP.  After Monday a single action may be submitted, however it cannot be an influence action, and if it is less than a week from game it will not be processed.

If you wish to do something with other PCs, please make sure that everyone involved posts their participation in their forum or you may find that they aren't there when you need them.


Note: If real life happens and you are unable to get actions in, letting us know before hand is good and we may be able to sort a few days extra grace period.

Actions are things you do between games that involve interaction with other PCs or NPCs. You may take as many actions as you like per month; investigating mysterious happenings, gaining/using influence or going to beat up on someone, and so on. Unfortunately there are only so many hours in a month, so if you spread yourself thin by trying to do too much, you will find yourself at penalties to any draws associated with these actions.

All characters have one "Uratha" action per month, one that does not count towards your action penalty. This action can be things such as guarding a locus, researching rituals, gaining Renown or developing gifts. It can't be used to gain influences or for mundane actions.

Any action after the first incurs a 1 draw penalty per additional action attempted during the month to all actions. If you take only one action, you are at no penalty, but if you attempt six actions you will be at a five draw penalty on all of them. Taking multiple actions in a month also incurs a penalty to staying hidden from anyone attempting to track you down.

It is assumed that all werewolves patrol their territory and meet their totem's ban as a part of everyday living, there is no longer a requirement for putting actions for these.

You may spend XP to buy no more than one dot in each of Attributes, Skills, Merits, Renown and Gifts per month. Renown and Gifts are also limited by the time and effort it takes to obtain them, please see the topic on Houserules for Renown and Gifts.
Some skill specialities and merits may also require a teacher, though this might not always be a fellow Uratha who is the teacher.

Totem
Totem is restricted to one dot per month per pack member, however it is not a standard merit and you are able to purchase merits as normal the same month you purchase totem.

1. Work on Cunning Renown
2. Work on Underworld influence
3. Patrol pack territory
4. Investigate rumours of missing people in Epsom
This person would be at -3 to all actions from the number of actions they have done.


1. Party all night and all day
2. Train at the gym (buy strength 3)
3. Learn Rite of Pants from my Alpha
This person is only taking 1 action, as buying strength isn't an action, nor is partying all the time.  Though is good to know if you do that...


You can also use influences as follows, though these are not actions:
1. Use Underworld influence to get a gun
2. Use Occult to get a rite
3. Use Police to get ride of those speeding tickets

If you wish to roleplay (interact) privately with other player character(s) outside of the game please be aware of the following limitations.

1. First and foremost, a GM must approve the interaction for it to canonically exist.
   
2. The majority of roleplay interactions should be at a game. If this interaction makes sense to be at a game, save it for then.
   
3. Interactions can only be OOC in person at a scene where a GM is present. This should be a rarity, and only occur when Downtime Actions call for it.
   
4. Interactions can only be by text if a GM has access to that text. This can be after the fact, but remember GM team can veto interactions that would not make sense.
   

Ideally the process is as follows:

• Inform the GM Team of your intention to roleplay with other player characters.
  
• Roleplay together via text (Google Doc, Facebook Pack Group, Messenger, other chat program).
  
• Copy the transcript of the roleplay to a Google Doc.
  
• Share the Google Doc with alwayspaladin at gmail.
  
• Receive approval to have the roleplay accepted as canon.
  

The GM team reserve the right to veto this roleplay at any point in the process.
