Character Creation Empty Character Creation

Post by Paladin (ST1) Thu Oct 15, 2015 11:50 pm

Werewolves of London is about surviving past the Apocalypse. Characters in this game will ideally be focussed on maintaining Harmony.

  • Newly-changed werewolves are available for play.
  • Wolf blooded characters require a conversation with the GMs; with the spiritual upheaval of the loss of the old packs, no character will remain a Wolf Blood past a certain point. Every character in this game will end up a werewolf.
  • On consultation with the GMs, a survivor from the Urathapocalypse may be playable.
  • Characters in this game should be no older than mid twenties, with the possible exception of Urathapocalypse survivors.

To create a character, follow this procedure.

  1. Write a backstory/brief describing your character concept as a human; submit this backstory/brief to the GM team via your personal forum. Note that you can only have up to two existing connections with other player characters at this point.
You may request specific merits or skills you wish your character to have, the GM team has final say on these however.
  2. You should include a note with thoughts of Virtue and Vice.
  3. The GMs will create your character build based on this story, then we will send you the character sheet.
Decide on what Auspice you want your character to first change under, and whether you wish to begin play as a newly changed werewolf or as a wolf blood. Add this information to your forum.
  4. You receive an amount of XP to alter the human character into the newly changed werewolf that they will be at the start of the chronicle.
OR If you are still a wolf blood you will receive this XP at the story point when your character undergoes their First Change.

Character Creation Empty Packs and Player Groups

Post by Paladin (ST1) Thu Oct 15, 2015 11:52 pm

Werewolves of London is a Werewolf the Forsaken game, and as such both the Tribe and the Pack are important story elements.

You can expect to join a Tribe and a Pack within the first couple of games. These decisions will be story based but we will take OOC considerations into account.

You may wish to indicate which other players you would like to roleplay closely with, and you may wish to be open to meeting new players or joining a pack with someone you have not roleplayed closely with before.

Character Creation Empty The First Change: Werewolf Template Application

Post by Paladin (ST1) Wed Oct 21, 2015 12:07 am

For characters who start play as unchanged Wolf Blooded characters, the Wolf Blood merit is free. When the wolf blooded character undergoes their First Change they lose the wolf blooded merit but gain the template as below.

For characters who start play as a recently changed Forsaken Werewolf, the following template will be given to alter the character sheet built by the GMs.

Werewolf Template Addition:

  1. On First Change, gain a Free Dot of a Primary Renown based upon the Auspice you have chosen. You also learn a Level One Gift at this time, at no cost, from the Gift Lists you have affinity with.
  2. On Tribal initiation, gain a Free Free Dot of a Primary Renown based upon the Tribe you have chosen. You also learn a  Level One Gift at this time, at no cost, from the Gift Lists you have affinity with. Note that this occurrence will very likely be during the early game, and cannot increase any Renown beyond 3.
  3. On First Change, gain a Free Dot of Primal Urge.
  4. Gain 40XP (experience points). These can be spent on anything that makes sense; merits, gifts, skills, attributes. Note, Renown is not purchased by XP in this game, in the event a new character is created that might feasibly have greater than the starting Renown the GMs will review the character backstory and assign Renown appropriately.

Note: All character sheet alterations, including this process, must be submitted through your personal forum, and approved by the GM team.

Character Creation Empty Character Loss

Post by Paladin (ST1) Sun Sep 25, 2016 12:05 am

Retirement of a character can occur in three ways. First, the character might perish in game. Second, the GM team might ask you to retire the character you are playing as it no longer suits the game. Third, you might decide to retire the character as you are no longer enjoying playing them.

In the event that a character is retired from the game, a player will have the opportunity to create a new character.

This creation follows the same process as listed in the posts above, with the exception of the XP gain on first change, which will be set to 50% of the XP earned by the previous character plus 20xp.
